made it out yesterday to Indian Bayou...brought the brother fishing...
the duck hunters coming out didn't do anything due to the fog...
caught a few nice bass and a nice catfish on a lipless crank bait...couple of monster cypress trout on a heavy cover jig,
they were feeding on shad...

Where is this? I have never heard of it.

Also, has anyone looked at the weather for next week? It shows a 40% chance of wintry mix next Friday but it also shows a high of 60* and a low of 56*.

Guys, we (my girlfriend and I) are going with her parents to Shepherd's tomorrow around lunch time. We will just be doing some bank fishing and kinda hanging out. Once I find out all the rules about boats and guests, I will update you guys.

You can keep 50 bream and 5 bass per person. I doubt we will be keeping any, as my freezer is still well stocked....which reminds me, I need to cook some fish soon

I’m just mad cause I have no idea when I’ll be able to go fishing again. Seems like I have some dumb bullshite going on every weekend preventing it.

I joined a bass club and I will already be missing a tournament in 3 weeks. Then the next one I’m on call. Starting to question if I should’ve just not joined.

I thought about joining it, too. I'm going to wait and see how much I get to fish this year, and maybe next year I"ll get in. You just pay the annual fee, and get to fish the tourneys? Still gotta pay entry fees for each tourney, right?

The one I’m in is $60 annual and $30 per tournament. One tournament per month.

ETA: I didn’t join the one they’ve been advertising on all the Henderson pages.

Different areas. The first tournament was last weekend at Bundick Lake. Conditions were pretty rough. I caught one fish. Only one team weighed in 5. I had never even heard of that lake before joining.

We’ll be fishing places like Mermentau, Calcasieu, Red River Colfax, Toledo Bend, Lake Martin and Henderson are both on the schedule. Indian Creek is next, but my wife informed me that we have a wedding for one of her friends that day. It’s her third marriage. I’m kinda pissed.

ETA: Oh, and the 2 places I know the best (Henderson and Lake Martin) I’m on call for those. Hopefully I can find someone to switch those weekends.

I am up at Toledo bend now and the big cloud of is continuing to follow me. Put the boat in the water around 2:30 and the trolling is acting up. Start throwing my Carolina rig and miss a fish. Pull out my brand new cranking rod and on the third cast it snaps in half. No more bites and call it a day at 4:30. Get back to the lake house to find a busted water pipe in the attic so no water last night. I have been pissing in a bucket since I have been here. Hoping today will bring better results.

ETA: when I leave here I am taking my trolling motor with me. I am going to bring it to superior and have them fix it. After that I am selling it and getting an ultrex. frick this motorguide and their electronic steering crap.
