Going try and fill my tags in Kansas next week! Wish me luck! Pre-rut activity should be in full swing. Weather Forecast looks pretty good .. maybe a touch warmer than what I’d like but still pretty nice. Low to mid 40’s at night with highs in mid 60’s.

Two yrs ago I skunked in Sept in MT, went back in Nov and killed a nice mulie and had opportunities on bull elk.
The snow makes a major difference in success rate

The prices on some of these Frontier prices are really tempting.

I hope It’s turned on in your area, but I’m running 10 cameras in Kansas and they haven’t really done much yet. Still have groups of bucks eating at feeders. I’m heading up 11/6 and plan to hunt that cool front pushing through that night. I’d like to hear what you’re seeing, please.
Good luck!

That tag already cost you $1,200 if you got elk/deer combo
You rather eat a $1,200 tag soup? Or spend a few hundo on another plane ride for a kill?
I'm a good salesman

I leave for Montana in the morning. Plan to spend a couple days trying to fill antelope doe tags in Wyoming ( units 115 and 102). Then fill Montana deer tag in SE part is state. First time in Montana. Any tips on deer hunting? Plan to hit public and a couple BMA’s.

We just got back from Montana, we were up there bird hunting and the guides we were with hunt a lot of BLM land, for mulies, they drive, scout, and shoot from trucks.

A metric shite ton of people drive and glass and hunt from their trucks.
We did a lot of that as well
Do not overlook smaller BLM blocks in the checkerboard areas...
Depends on the unit...
The rivers and tributary riverbed areas (narrow strips of public) hold whitetails...
The mulies run all over the valley, you have to catch them when they cross the line onto public.
If there's snow in the mtns the valley will be loaded with game, you gotta find em on little public blocks near private where they're spending most of their time.
Granted where I hunt it's BIG mountains so if you're staying out east on the prairie it may be much different.

Good luck. Should be good

Flights are going for less than 300 round trip and a small game/bird tag is 80 bucks. I'll cover the vehicle rental and give you some elk meat.

you’re really testing my resolve. I even started looking at weather

We hunted around Seward, Kansas last Monday through Friday. Slow hunting for the most part. Even our best stands were slow. Guy I went with did shoot a nice 8. Will be going back in mid December.
