I had a group of does bed about 80 yards from my stand once. Was lucky to be in a ladder for once instead of a climber. I got down and snuck up on them staying behind large trees. At 30 yards, I drew my bow then whistled until they stood up. I got one and shook harder than on any other kill in my life.

Congrats! Beautiful buck!

Is that a high shoulder shot? Did you drop him where he stood?

Yeah high shoulder running away from me at 150 yards. I hollered and he stopped and I shot him right away. He didn’t even kick.

Congrats! Great buck.

I’m wanting to eventually hunt Nilgai. I’m told they are good table fare. Cannot for the life of me understand why outfitters are asking $5K to hunt them in TX.

Because people who don’t know any better will pay $5K

Book thru the King Ranch as they charge $2500 … $1200 day fee, $1300 kill fee
