Just rescued a 1990s Benjamin/Sheridan air rifle from a trash heap

I was driving and saw it sticking out of a garbage can. It was coated with sawdust and dirt. The barrel was blocked up. I wish I had taken a before picture but I was too excited. I cleaned it off and oiled it up. Seems like it still shoots pretty quick but I ordered a rebuild kit anyways. There isnt very much rust on it.
When I was a kid I'd run around the neighborhood with an plastic pump up Crossman. The rich kid up the street who's dad owned a catering company had a couple of Benjamins and would always make fun of my pellet gun. I never bought one when I grew up because I always had a .22 to use. I'm excited as shite to finally have one. I'm about to chug some high life so I have cans to shoot at.
I need to let my yard squirrels know that they will not be safe come season.

I've still got a 592 (.22) and it shoots great. Killed just about every pest around with it.

Have one just like it, was my grandpa’s.

This one is from the early 90s based on the serial number.
There was a kid a neighborhood over who had one with a chrome barrel. Flexin' on everybody

Are the seals still good? I still have my Sheridan from about ‘88 but it doesn’t hold air. Eventually I’d like to get it fixed for my son to use.

It shoots, idk how fast. I was googling around and seal/rebuild kits run anywhere from 5 to 40 bucks. Haven't dug in to what the difference is yet

I have a .177 Benjamin that was my dad’s from when he was a kid. Serial number puts it around 1962 and it still shoots flawlessly. I still plink in the backyard with it, since firearms are frowned upon in my suburban neighborhood.

I'm in the same boat now.
Any way to adjust windage on em?

I shot them daily from 1988-1997 or so and can tell you I never had a problem with windage. My brother and I probably shot 2 tons of lead through a half dozen or so of them. All .20 cal. Killed everything short of a deer, and a whole bunch of stuff I'll never mention. I found one of my old ones recently that I had put a scope on later in life. I'm going to take the scope off and rebuild it soon for my son. He's 3 but we are working on proper shooting form. Open sights help with that.
I've posted this here before, but at one time you could send the guns back to the Crossman Company (they bought Benjamin/sheridan a while back) and they'd rebuild them for $35 or so. I sent back 3 one time and they rebuilt 2, then sent a whole new one as the third wasn't repairable.

How bad is it to rebuild I have one that won’t hold air when pumped

Here's where I'm hitting. Only shot twice since I'm not supposed to be using my right arm right now.

Oh shite that's awesome. Reckon I'll go that route

If anybody needs their Benjamins or Sheridans repaired contact Baker's Air Guns. I highly recommend them. They are first class and a pleasure to talk to.

I have a Sheridan Silver Streak from around 1994 and a Benjamin air pistol from 1996. They both need a little work but will put a .177 pellet through a fence board still.
