Ah yes... It's just a mirage, then. I don't believe it exists, much like rodents of unusual size.
OH well.
OH well.

Okay, so this Jeep has got 188k on it. $8k sounds a bit steep for an 18 yr old vehicle with that man miles.

Have you been to that Jeep dealer in Slidell? They must have 30 of them, seems like a great place to compare and contrast different models.
Never seen anything but Jeeps there, but his site has other vehicles listed. There are at least three pages of Jeeps though, so you can at least use it for retail prices.

I'm no where near LA.
I just told the guy that KBB says it's worth $6368 for Very Good Condition. He proceeded to tell me to leave him alone

Here's the website to that Jeep store, there are other trucks too, but it'll give you a retail price reference for different models.

No doubt. My wife drives a manual and she would never say some shite like that.

the only thing that worries me about the pictures is what looks like the oil pan. it looks painted almost. i wonder why.
Might have been replaced at some point. Seems like not much of an issue if it runs well. I think mine had a skid plate replaced. I crawled all under it, and that looked much newer than the rest. I've had it 4 years and the only thing I've done is new tires and brakes. Runs like a top.

I have a late year 4.0L rubicon.
Bought last year for 12k with 160k miles. All stock. Old man owned. All maint3nance records.
Replaced:
Radiator
Waterpump
Belts
Rear main
Heater core
All fluids
And all suspension components are next on the list.
Fun vehicle, but our other two suvs are considerably cheaper and better made.

throw KBB and NADA out the window when it comes to jeeps. they are worth what the public is willing to pay. 166k on that I6 ain't shite. that motor is tried and true and has seen many years of onroad/offroad testing over the last 50 years.
8k seems like a decent price (could of probably talked him down to 7500 if you hadn't insulted him
).
i drove a CJ daily for years, then a YJ, TJ and now the JkU. Go with the TJ or LJ (TJU) although you won't find an LJ for under 11K and the LJ Rubicons are still pulling in over 17k stock.
ETA: be on the lookout- my jeep was selected to represent BFG and Southern Tire Mart on a national billboard compaign. pretty damn cool

He offered to take $7800. I was kinda insulted by that offer but seeing as to how well these hold value, I'm not surprised any more.

Were there any comps on the site I gave you? They seem REALLY expensive, IMO.

That is cool. Congrats.
They paying you?

Yea, but the 'spare' Tacoma wheels sit in a bit too far...so I bought stock FJ40 steelies. The offset is ideal for larger tires. Spare Tacoma wheels were impossible to find, and stock FJ wheels weren't much easier. Got them off of craigslist from a used car dealership that 'dressed' up an FJ.
You can see the offset is a bit better.
They look right, the center caps are a bit wonky though...luckily these came with everything.

I got the tires- BFG KM2 37x12.50r17 (5) for $1500
they didn't pay me but I got a pretty good discount. i sold my set of 35x12.50r17 KM2's for $1100 so i came out of pocket for $400. It's a company vehicle so the invoice goes under vehicle maintenance.

yeah, I bring customers around in it (sometimes) and let my 5' tall secretary run errands in it (occasionally).
