He's really lucky all he hit was a mud flat, that place is full of oyster beds that will rip off your lower unit.

Hit an oyster bed in Bay Round doing about 50 and it damn near knocked the motor up into the boat. Cost me a new SSt prop.

We hit a sandbar by whisky pass one day. The impact was unbelieveable. Nothing like a mud flat. I still can't believe it didn't rip our lower unit off.

I was sold on a yamaha when I saw a guy rooster tailing mud 30 ft in the air and it never overheated. We tried to wave him away from the mud flat but he wasn't looking. He ran at least 2 minutes like that.
