Sitting in a pipeline hunting good bucks or a doe
I got REB Jr in a stand 350 yards down from me.
I’m bundled up like the abominable snowman and sweating my arse off after the 1/4 mike walk to the stand.

I’ve bow hunted all year (well, I’ve only been to the camp 3 times this season). Having a 10 month old changes things. Been skunked with my bow so brought my new .308 that I got for Xmas last night and smashed 145 lb doe at 175 yards. Glad to get some meat in the freezer

And damn, gun hunting is so much easier than bow!

In the camp.

68* warmer the closer to the fire you get

Wife had to take her mom to DR appt so I’m watching the 3 kids

Slept in till 6:30 after hunting the last few days, it felt great.

Probably back at it this afternoon

Good luck everybody

24* at 6, about freezing now
.270 in lock on in timber adjacent to cutover.

Heard two bucks fighting and really getting after it about 9:00, then at 9:30 a 2.5 year old 8 pt came cruising through 10 yards from the stand then rubbed up a pine tree before leaving.
The rut is definitely picking up.

Little fella shot a full buck earlier. Just found him. I hope his dad is feeling better so he can clean it
