My last deer hunt of the season; it’s very bittersweet. I’ve made probably 72 hunts and 70 of them were with a bow.

Hunted harder this year than ever before. Let the arrows fly like Caesarean archers in combat. The freezer is full of meat; my daughter killed her first one; hunted some with my dad; hunted some with my ride or die cousin; have seen some amazing things in the woods.

In my opinion of Tensas, the bucks were in full rut right before Christmas until a few days after New Years. Saw big bucks doing big buck things. It’s so damn fun, hard to put in perspective in a tl/dr world.

But today is the end for 22/23.

And I’m the only one hunting at Little Fork… it’s like my own personal club today. Of course not without challenging circumstances. With all the rain, my usual creek cross points to my honey hole are flooded out… but thank God for beavers and fallen trees. I scouted up creek a quarter mile and found a big tree to cross. There’s a big six point hiding back here. He’s young… but a stud.

Should our paths cross, with this north wind stream hovering over our game of cat and mouse, Wolf and buck… I think I can get an arrow into him.

But there’s always next year:)

Good luck to all on the last day until the first one come next.

Yea. I hunted Tendal last week and only 2 trucks. The crowd definitely dies mid to late January.

People are out of days off haha. Fortunately if the weather gets crappy like this it frees me up from work.

Good luck Baw's.

Had 3 young bucks come in at last light. Had a chance at a funky antlered 8. Presented a decent shot, thought I'd let him see another year. What a great way to end my season. It was filled with ups and downs. Hope you Baw's enjoy the last day.

Its always fun to have the memories to bring us back the next year.

I had 3 small does come in at dark yesterday. Then had 2 yearlings at 7am today. I could hunt this evening but Im not sure Im motivated with it 70F and the last day.

Week before last. The stainless and synthetic ones are harder to find. I got the camo synthetic and cerakoted one. Pookie's has em in stock.
