I like the new sitka pattern and also like natural gear however natural gear doesnt offer enough pieces for my liking.

I can't find natural gear at any store. I like to put my hands on products before buying stuff online.

not a lot of rocks (or white) around the marsh where i hunt, just greens/black/brown. plain ole splotchy camo is all ive ever worn, if that. my waders are brown and my jacket is green
ducks dont care as long as you keep still

jesus that sitka shite is expensive
a waterproof wading jacket + an insulated liner is almost 650 bucks. i think i paid 200 for my 20 year old browning jacket, with a liner

Columbia's were expensive back in the day, around 400 for a quad parka as I recall. Still have mine, too.

Apples and oranges.
I have two First Lite base layers and a pair of pants that I wear bowhunting. I wear the baselayers duck hunting under a Sitka vest and a Sitka shell.
Both of the Sitka pieces were given to me. I'm not sure I would ever spend that kind of money on clothes for myself, but anybody that says their stuff isn't quality is high. I hunt ~40 days a year sitting and crawling around in marsh grass, and I wear that Sitka shell every single hunt. I've had it for three years and it looks the same today as it did they day I got it. It's the best piece of hunting clothing I own.
People can say what they want about being too good to spend money on quality hunting gear, but I'm harder on my shite than pretty much anybody I know, and that Sitka stuff has held up unbelievably well. I still don't think I could justify the price for myself, but it's damn good gear.

Because from far away and the distances that an animal will see you, you will look like a black blob standing next to a tree. The same goes for Mossy Oak Break Up and stuff like that. The grid patterns work for what they were designed to do, break up your silhouette so that an animal cant see you against another back drop. That's why KUIU patterns are so great along with First Lite's ASAT pattern. That ASAT pattern is pretty amazing at blending in with almost any surrounding, especially from a distance.
90 percent of the time I am invited on a duck hunt I am 100% certain that all we have a shot to kill is shite ducks that have never been hunted.
From the beat down brush, to the wide open tops, to the heavy arse gates, to the jacked up flocked head decoys, and the desire for everyone in the blind to stare at the ducks and use their new calls.
But their camo looks like a damn magazine cover.
I just eat my honey bun and enjoy the day.

Absolutely which is the most important aspect of any hunting. But even in your environment, there is more white than you realize, alot more. Im not saying KUIU VIAS, Sitka Witches Titty, or First Lite ASAT is ideal for marsh hunting, but solid dark colors arent either. I suppose it's all for nothing because men have been killing ducks/deer/elk for way longer than any of these companies have been together, but that doesnt mean that some of these patterns are in fact better than run of the mill stuff. Doesnt mean you cant kill ducks naked, but to write new stuff off and say it isnt better is being naive.

Hell, that's all I duck hunt for, to have a honey bun and shoot the shite. Well, I did get a new thermos for Christmas, so now I have hot arse coffee too.

Sounds like you need to hunt with different people.

Nah, I love the people I hunt with, for me and my personal self, I don't care too much.
If I wanted to kill ducks, I have 4000 acres of marsh and rice fields I could hunt and invest time in at my disposal, I just don't care enough to do it.
And I understand the work that is required to keep a blind up and ready to go year round, I have done it. So it doesn't bother me in the least. I was merely making an observation.
I know very very very few guys that are as good at killing things or hunting as they represent. That is just the way guys act. This board is of course the exception.
The success of the hunter is almost always equal to the quality of land he hunts. The real difference is effort put into getting the quality land.
If you are willing to get up at 2AM, push pole about 3 miles, wade another mile, and set up where the ducks were last night...well, you probably don't need to worry about camo.
If you have a great lease and you are willing to keep dekes fresh, keep blinds brushed, and do what the birds respond to..the answer remains the same.

I'm somewhere in the middle of that, but I still worry about camo. I worry about every detail, because if a group of 5 ducks doesn't commit on their last circle, I want to be 100% sure there is nothing else I could've done to kill those ducks.
But I'm young and very mad at ducks.

I just stand in a shadow and don't worry about it. All my camo is old and mismatched anyway.

well, if you want to make it difficult and all
