I am starting to think about my plans for next year. Have any of you bird hunted internationally? Where did you go and what was your experience?
TIA
TIA

I've been to Mexico, Honduras, and Argentina for dove and perdiz, and Italy for pheasant, partridge and boar. Argentina is like a video game and probably the most civilized of the dove destinations. I went with Trek Safaris and everything was great. Did you have specific questions?

I have been to the Cordoba area of Argentina a few times with Trek as well. The wing shooting is unbelievable, and the people really know how to take great care of you.

South Africa... You wont regret it. Cheaper than most international experiences but can easily do just as much shooting if you go at the right time

Thanks. I saw Trek online. Which one of those trips did you enjoy most?

Just check out Ramsey Russell. LINK /
I'd be looking at Argentina to start, or Mexico for ducks.
Thanks

Funny you mention SA because I was thinking about it. I also know a guy who was a PH there years ago.

Thanks. Did it affect your enjoyment of dove hunting in the States since our numbers are much lower?

Italy. I went with my wife last year and it was the best all around experience, in fact one of the best trips I have ever taken. I went with Pettino Outfitters and the hunting was just part of the experience. The place is beautiful and rustic, huge family meals with a family who has lived in that village for 500 years, surrounded by Umbrian hills, truffle hunting with dogs, boar hunting with dogs, target shooting with the members of the Italian competitive shooting team using a Beretta prototype. The hunting experience was good, but it really was just part of the experience. The folks who run that outfit are just fantastic people.
The trips with Trek, especially Argentina, are just incredible wing shooting, and they are really great at taking care of you, as another poster said. I'm actually slated to go to Cordoba in June.

Thanks much
That Italy trip looks very reasonable cost wise.

I have dove hunted in hondo Texas before where there were so many doves you could just point in the air and shoot. Right place at the right time I guess. I was with locals so let’s just say we shot cases of shells.

Im not 100% positive bc i went just last year and it was fine but I do know the ANC (DNC maybe?) was trying to propose a law where all minority landowners must give their land to the state since then so Im not sure. I can let you know who we went with tomorrow but it is definitely something unique and away from the traditional Argentina or mexico route. If its safe right now, I would do it because you dont know how many more chances you will have going there to hunt in the future.

When I was stationed in in Korea some friends of mine went Pheasant hunting on Jeju Island, they loved it.

Ramsey Russell is as good as it gets. Very kind and willing to share his knowledge freely. Visit with him and he will probably have some very unique opportunities for hunting. Hope you have a great trip!

I’ve known Ramsey for well over 20 years now long before he made it big time. The success hasn’t changed him at all. He still researches everything personally and ensures quality in both the hunting and accommodations side. I’ve gone with get ducks more than once and they provide and excellent experience.
You need to decide what you want if it’s volume great wine and beef Argentina is your place weather it’s duck or dove or pigeon. If you want an experience but not 200+ birds a day maybe it’s Canada for waterfowl or Europe for an experience hunt. You somewhat need to figure out what you want out of an international experience then select your game and location.
Mexico is still great and often cheaper and still a lot of safe areas but seems like you have to be a lot more careful down there now woth where who and how down there.

Yes, you become spoiled. Don't get me wrong I still love a local dove hunt.
