On thing that has me looking at Ram is the bed length on the 4 door. I may be able to avoid a slider hitch for my 5er and have 4 doors instead of the ext cab with that awkward rear opening one.

I can't believe this thread is still going
Ram before titan definitely. after doing some more research today with the ride, hemi and interior of the "nicer" models looking better and making the decision.

A diesel in a half ton would make it a strong contender too. And it's looking more and more likely.

Ram 1500 likely to get turbo diesel.

transmission would go out, brakes would fail, everything would fall off of it, but the motor would keep running..

You forgot the cracked dash. Someone needs to brush up on their Dodge breakage history.

it's from the driver pounding on it with his fist when he feels that transmission start to first slip,,,,,,,, about 1500 miles AFTER the warranty ran out...

Y'all are ruthless. I give up the fight though. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Didn't know the 2009-12 trucks were doing it...probably relatively isolated incident. But the 1994-2008 models did it a lot...normally just due to sitting out in the sun and the plastic being cheap = easy crackage. It was much more prominent in the 1994-2001 models fwiw...they fixed the problem a little more each generation

I've got an 07 Ram 3500 and haven't had a single problem. Pait looks as good as it did the day I drove it off the lot except for some swirls. The interior I got was only a SLt but I bought mine to pull cattle and hay machines aroud the pastures an stuff So it has been used and abused and I am completly satisfied
