If you don't know how to buff a vehicle, you should learn.

It's not very difficult to learn, just takes some elbow grease and an inexpensive buffer from Harbor Freight.

But look at the results on this '05 Sequoia. This is the passenger door. Mirror like finish.

Edited title as to not offend anyone.

The one I just traded got washed when my wife washed it.

I ran it through an automated wash on the way to trade it in.

The problem is that too many people don't know what they are doing but think they do. They end up over buffing. I had a detailer do one of my cars once, and it looked great when he did it. Then one spot started fading badly a couple months later and ended up rusting. And this was a car just a couple years old. I only use a detailer now that I really trust, and no way in hell I'd put a buffer in my own hands.

Well, it is a 12-13 year old Jeep. I did give it a good hand wash about 3 weeks ago. Got all the brake dust off the wheels and they were looking sharp. Other than the run through the touchless wash when I have my hardtop on, and the 2-3 times each year I handwash it, I don't bother with it.

It's easy bro. Just use polishing compound on newer vehicles and not rubbing compound. It won't cut into your clearcoat and will just smooth it to a mirror finish and take out minor scratches in the clearcoat.

A buddy of mine showed me how to do it years ago in 5 minutes. Just keep it moving and you won't burn the paint.

So OP makes a thread telling the OB they need to learn how to buff. Yet he doesn't post one single informative thing about it. Perfect.
