Looks like a Dekays brown snake. Harmless

Skimmer snake. Very dangerous if you stick your hand in there unexpectedly. You could pull a hammy, break an ankle or all sort of things. Unless you're Tigerdad. Then you climax.

We have a mess of Dekay's in the garden, my wife and kid handle them often, they don't even try to bite. They are literally harmless.
