My dad had a Colt Sauer .270 bolt action rifle. It was his primary hunting gun and was kept in showroom condition. He usually only went on one guided hunt per year and shot it 3 times per hunt. 2 when he got to camp to make sure it was sighted in and 1 for the kill shot.

Today he showed up to my house and said I should have it. I almost broke down. I’ve always drooled over it and now it’s in my gun cabinet. This is a $2,000+ gun with the Leopold scope.

Here’s a stock pic from google. I’m still giddy and taking it to the stand tomorrow.

I noticed that today while shooting it. It’s like it has been oiled and polished every day for the last 50 years.

Also, don’t hiccup when squeezing the trigger. It’s a very light pull. Learned that one the hard way.

don't lose the magazine as they are priced from $100-200 depending on cartridge and who you buy from

Congratulations JP Sauer & Sohn make fine rifles. One of the best triggers of any factory rifle I have shot.

So if you're supposed to spend twice the rifle costs on a scope, what would that be?

Wow, congrats my man on an absolutely beautiful rifle. I'll offer you $1000 cash and I can pick it up today?

Seriously, that is awesome. Now go shoot it!

There were a couple guys who had a Colt Sauer at Woodstock Plantation in Woodville back in the 80’s. One guy walks in with the gun in 2pieces. Slid the gun through a fence, propped the gun up on the other side, climb over and in the jump down he landed on it, broke it right behind the grip.
