I'm not sure what wire connection your trailer has but I use the 7 pole to 6 pole adapter and plug mine into the factory connection on bumper. I was told by the camper place that this was the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

The guy at Kirks said they did it with no splicing for $120. I think it you unplug the wires going to the bumper and its like a tee. Both plugs will still work. The cheapest I found online was $80 for just the harness. So they charging $40 to install.

Think I will let my light wire drop from the mid neck area on the trailer and just plug straight under the bumper

I did this with my other truck, cause the in bed plug was screwed up. But some trailers I've pulled didn't have enough wire to reach the bumper without getting in a bind. My trailer would be fine but I sometimes pull other folks stuff.

I'd go that route. Get a 7 pin in your bed too instead of a 6 pin. Ya never know. Plenty of new trailers are coming with 7 pin plugs.

I did one a while back and got all of the parts from Mike Gerald's.

Do they install them also?

I think they do. I'm not positive though.

How long did it take you to install it?

I helped a friend put one in years ago and remember it taking us a while.

3 hours, but I am a fair amount above average being mechanically inclined.

On the 2009 I did, you couldn't separate the plug behind the female part. There was no T, and I chased it back to in front on the gas tank.

It wasn't overly hard for me. I just took my time and made sure everything was away from sharp edges and was water tight.

I used 6 and 7-pin diagrams from etrailers here LINK, some wire cutters, I think 22ga wire, silicone wire nuts, wire strippers, string to pull the new wires into the hole in the bed, a hole saw, self-tapping screws, zip ties, heat shrink, and electrical tape.

I am sure there are a couple of things I left out too

Dust- I am coming to P'ville to take your man card. Order a B&W, drill one hole in bed with a hole saw, install hitch. Takes total of about 3 hours tops.

Voila- gooseneck hitch installed.

From B&W's site....

How difficult is the Turnoverball to install? Can I do it myself?

We have engineered the Turnoverball to be installed easily. Because you don't have to remove the bed, weld, or drill through the frame, the installation basically consists of drilling a four inch hole in the bed and bolting the hitch parts to the frame.

Don't be beetch- do it yourself!

If I had the good blessing of working shift work like you, I'd have the hitch installed already
