I'll have to ask the wife later on where we got our boxer puppy.

I know the people were in gonzales, she did everything on Facebook though.

I have had nothing but boxers the last 10 years and I got all of them from rescues. They are excellent dogs. My first rescue boxer I got from the New Orleans boxer rescue and Gumbo was the best dog I ever had. I see puppies listed from time to time so might want to check it out! Good luck!

Why under 8 weeks old? No responsible breeder is going to let a pup go before then as it's better, developmentally, for the pup to remain with Mom and litter mates till then.
Not to mention it's actually illegal in many states. Even LA has a law requiring pups be at least 8 weeks old to be offered for sale but it only applies to businesses not private sales.

I prefer six. I've gone as young as four weeks (livestock guardian, not a regular dog) It helps weed out poor learned behavior.

I've always had myself and trained dogs for them to be around. They quickly grasp the undesired behaviors and it makes my training them easier.

I 100% do not advise it for people who will not be spending a lot of time and energy with the puppy when it is small and have dogs for them to mimic.

Brothers Do something similar with fighting dogs for the same reason.

Alright, my wife doesnt know of the people we got our boxer pup from are breeders but she will ask. It might have been an accidental litter.

Its kind of a drive but apparently there is a litter of boxer pups at the Slidell Veternary Hospital. They have 9 pups, no idea if they are pure need but they sure look it.

Rockin P Rescue is a boxer rescue organization out of Jacksonville AL. Really good people and a great way to pick up a Boxer.
