Why can't you tell your friend how you really feel?

Back the stand up to 200 yards from the trail, food plot, or bait. That far it wont matter if he makes a little noise.

If he cant shoot 200 yards you got big problem

Start hunting the farthest you can from the road in the thickest woods he has. Make him get up 3 hrs before daylight to get in the woods early and sit all day. Amateurs will get tired of this very fast.

If you look anything like your av, he may just be trying to slip you Mickie instead.

Make him hunt until he can't stand it anymore...Sit on the ground in the rain for at least 3 hours in 30 degree weather....if he doen't quit he will has a greater appreciation for the hunt...

Ah man, this painfully sounds like me trying to hunt with my father. He was a smaller high-energy person who was like a little kid...just couldn't sit still. I can still remember taking him to the PERFECTLY located ground blind. He couldn't sit still for more than 5 minutes and he'd have to unwrap a Snickers bar or take a sip of coffee out of his thermos.

I just had to sit back and enjoy just being out in the woods.

Or tell him atvs must be spooking deer....walk to stand....

90% of hunter will not walk more than 300 yards to hunt

99.% will not walk more than 500

Many will not hunt if they can't drive right up to stand

We literally had a 10 point walk out on the opening day of gun season, and I told him it was his for his first deer. As I'm spotting, he turns around and loudly unzips the camp bag to find ear plugs.

Why is he in your stand with you? Put him in his own stand

If he's a REALLY good friend, you tell him

"look you buckblocking %#$@$#$#@#$#@m, I'd love to kill something, but that's not going to happen with your loud talking $#$#@#$#@ arse around. go find you a $#@#$%$#$, get in that $#$#@#$$#$#, be quiet, and leave the me $#$#@#$##@ alone".

Is that really your experience? My bike never leaves the trailer if we don't kill. Closest walk is probably 1/2 mile, longest is 1-1/2 miles

Tell him something to the effect of....looks like you got the hang if it now, we would both have a better chance if we were to split up, and go hunting by ourselves, text me if you have any problems (turn your phone off and say you got a bad signal). Sounds like he is a grown man, and he has been with you several times, no reason for him to need a babysitter at this point

It sounds like he's better suited to chase style hunting with baying dogs.
