Looking for a hunting lease within an hour or two of st John parish. Want to start taking my kids and teaching them what hunting is all about. I grew up hunting with my uncle in the swamps. But kinda hard these days with a bad knee.

Keep an eye on LINK
and see if anything opens up over the summer.

This is Weyerhaeuser's lease portal, it also has a place "clubs seeking members" which shows several openings in Louisiana

Get in a lease to show your kids that grown arse men can act like 12 year old little girls for the dumbest reasons.

This is one of the things thats kept me from picking up hunting as an adult. Seems like every year I’m listening to hunting story bitch fights at the holidays. Supposed to be a relaxing hobby!

I grew up in a lease with my dad and 2 of his lifelong friends.... we had about 500 acres and typically only had 3-4 hunters for about 20 years. It was awesome.... we got cheated out of our lease and I think only have 100 something left and nobody hunts now. I was planning on it this year but I tore my knee up and had surgery.

I also have about 35 acre timber farm that was inherited but never scouted it it for deer

The problem with having your own lease is that you might not be able to afford much land. Also, there is a lot of knowledge to be gained from being in a club. Kids have a blast being around other kids in camp, whether they really take to hunting or not.
