not only do hunters have it easier today, most of them are basically women with how quickly they become offended

does saying this make you feel better about this thread? All i'm doing is asking questions about your logic of todays "easy" hunting, and you haven't answered me. Surely I like to argue, but what's the harm in that? I can stay out and let all you old guys circle jerk about the old times, or I can offer my thoughts and stir up some debate and questions which is what this forum is for, last time I checked.

Technology makes hunting more comfortable. That doesn't always mean it will make the kill easier. Any technology that makes it easier to kill animals is either adapted to or made illegal.

Im 34 and my dad and I routinely talk about the shitty camps and leases that we hunted on when I was younger.

I am not sorry at all my kids will grow up hunting on good land and a camp with a toilet and heater.

I don't know shite about duck hunting

Then, not being a well rounded sportsman yourself, I would STFU about newbs, kids, pansies, sugarasses etc.

I just thought it would be fun to joke about the stuff we used to do in the old days. But, it appears I've offended some people by suggesting technology has made things easier. That wasn't my intent.

I wasn't offended. We probably grew up about the same way hunting. I see what you are saying and I like reminiscing also....I just don't care about comparing today vs yesteryears unless I'm telling my kids how hard it was when I was younger.

BTW, don't mess with Bourgs. He's black.

when I was younger, fishing was out of a 12' aluminum boat with a boat cushion (maybe) and a paddle. Now, if I were to do that it would be bc this was the only way to get to the fish and they were jumping in the boat, other wise I'm in the "comfort" of my boat with an outboard, trolling motor and a seatback.

Haven't I?

As I said, in my area at least, there are far more and bigger deer. The technology and info about hunting is better and more accessible. If you think being so cold that you can barely draw your bow doesn't make it harder to kill a deer, then I don't know what to tell you. The clothing back then sucked and/or was very bulky. There was one time when I was about 11 when I COULDN'T get my bow back because I was so cold I was stiff. Conditions certainly affect things.

Maybe I shouldn't have joked about the "pansy" part, but I didn't know you guys would be such pansies about it. What I expected from this thread was to get a lot of guys to say, "Hell yeah, the boots/bows/socks/flashlights/deer sucked back then." But, apparently there are a lot of guys who never experienced those things, and can't join in. So, you're taking offense. Relax. I don't have a problem with the hunting today (most of it anyway).

Mine were always too small. Guaranteed blisters after a rabbit hunt.
