Biologist have directly linked the drop in deer numbers in Sherburne, PR, and Red River to increasing hog numbers. Add bears to the list of things snacking on fawns. Really wish the state could get serious on knocking down the hog numbers. Similar to MO.

In a perfect world everything would work out but we don't live in a perfect world. Hunters are responsible for a ton of habitat and conservation, over the long run increased competition leads to less hunters, less conservation $ and a net loss. Look out west where states are lowering available tags and having to increase prices to counter balance.

The most effective technique i have heard of , according to the result i read, is to capture a few, GPS collar them, and let them go.

Then, few days later, a select hand picked level headed hunters with semi auto guns, close in on them , and wipe out the whole herd.

Coupled with night hunts with supressors, over and over and over, All This has got to put a dent in hog population

You can not shoot hogs on public land in Missouri. They banned it.

That's too logical for the state to implement.

However, without seeing more details, it seems that concept isn't much different than what is done now with trapping. Trappers just wait to engage the trap until you have a decent sized sounder in the trap. This probably just cuts down on the time necessary to accomplish that.

I see the traps. They only put them where a truck can get to, for delivery. Many of the hogs displace with all of the activity. Man on foot can get amongst the hog HQ.

Judas pigs do work but everything has to be perfect to Kill every pig in a sounder with rifles You have to remove every single one or you’re spinning your wheels

I don't disagree, but I know guys that have trapped 500 or 600 hogs this year.

If you half arse it like I've seen the state do sometimes, you aren't going to be very successful. But some of the private guys put some real numbers up.

Sodium nitrite. It'll get rid of them.

I had high hopes for sodium nitrite,it turns out it is lethal to other animals such as bears, raccoons and whitetail deer. The answer is in a delivery system other animals can’t access. That involves a feeder with voice recognition software and cameras, any animal besides a hog approach’s and it locks up.
Numbers I read was $2000 dollars for feeder and need one about every 100 acres.I’m sure the bait isn’t cheap either.Lots of people aren’t going to spend that.

There should be a large enough population to warrant a season on bear.
A lottery for public land, perhaps.
If nuisance bear persist, I have heard a .22lr in the guts will cause them to go somewhere else.
Its what I have heard.
Just saying.

They have done this for us, it went about how you expect a government managed program to go.

Idk man, I've seen videos of bears running off at the simplest of questions posed to them. Hitting them with some solid legal ownership documents might just do the trick.

If you have to shoot one at least have the testicular fortitude to kill it quick. If you shoot an animal in the guts on purpose you're lower than mowed dog shite
