I sold an ar pistol the other day. all I did was verify he was 21 on his license and ask him if he was a felon.

Something no one is talking about is that NCIS doesn't have the capability at the moment to add 40% workload to an already overloaded system. I was in Clarksburg 2 years ago and they were building 2 new buildings just to keep pace with what they had then.
I know the guys at ICJIS for DOJ are probably shitting their pants at the prospects of having another 7-8 million checks a month.

Just to add to the confusion, I believe NY state is requiring background checks to purchase ammo now. That will probably be more significant than anything else.

The FFL guys are loving this. They are promoting it hard like it will do some good because it will increase their income.

One fairly big local (BR) dealer has raised FFL x-fer fee from $25 to $40 in the last few days.

The success (or lack of) in passing this bill won't depend solely on the FFL holders. But they will reap an even bigger windfall than they've enjoyed since Newtown if the UBC requirement passes.

You are correct and thats my problem with it. They will all charge more and short of getting one yourself and charging less, there is nothing you can do about it.

where this may affect a lot of people is guns acquired through inheritance

Don't worry, inheriting guns will probably go out the window as well.
