Our 3-year olds are usually between 150-180 lbs, our bigger deer are 180-230 lbs.

Same as our deer. Anything over 180 is usually older than 3.5 and can see that in the size of their head.

I whole heartedly agree with you on cameras and cell cameras. We all use them but man does it take away from the excitement of the unknown!

I still won’t use them on public mostly cause I’m lazy but not knowing what deer is out there gives me a lil enjoyment.

its fun in the offseason....we saw our first bear this past August.

He passes through my uncle every year.

I'd be ok if they banned them during deer season though.

We saw tons of deer as always. We cut our doe harvest in half 3 years ago and it’s made a huge difference.
It’s crazy how many more deer including bucks you have on your property when you stop killing all of the deer that birth more deer

= more mouths to feed

I guess if your management plan is to be able to see a bunch of deer go ahead

My experience as well. When I started the corn in late September, they were chowing on it, including a lot of racked bucks daytime feeding. Then I got sick and didn’t get in the woods and they had mostly gone nocturnal. There were buckets full of acorns the last weekend of the season, and not enough rain to sour them. Took one older spike, saw a lot of does, but I’m still funny about shooting mamas with their babies and every one of them had a baby with them, including two sets with twins. And the bucks that did come out during daylight patterned me right off, and would always show up at the blind I wasn’t at. Thank goodness for my South Texas trip loading the freezer.
