I'd use a vertical shoulder holster for better mobility moving...but thats just me..don't know the dimensions of your 10mm but I think itd be too big for a horizontal rig.

Besides the suggestions that several people have made to ditch the coveralls and carry your pistol on your chest make sure you are in shape elevation is no joke. I'm a fit guy and 10000ft in CO kicked my butt chasing elk last year.

Which is why I said worry about having wool clothing to keep your huffing puffing soaking wet body from freezing. I don't think jogging or walking can really help with the altitude, but it won't hurt. Walking 100 yards up hill will make you want to sit down for a while. Don't bring Goretex either. That shite is loud, and the rocks and timber will rip it to shreds.

Definitely worth the money to hunt with horses. Not to mention they will pack your kill out for you.

There are way more other things to worry about than bears or needing a pistol.
I've got to disagree. I had an encounter with a mountain lion 12 yards off the trail at night in Colorado last September. Thank God I saw his eyes with my headlight before I walked past him or I may have been attacked from behind.

I had a Glock 22 on my hip and was damn glad I had it.

It will ABSOLUTELY help.

Anyone heading into the mountains on a hunting trip that's costing a bunch of money should be exercising in anticipation of these trips.

Cardio, get it done.
