Sounds dumb but it depends how many people are on the boat. If there are 4 people, I only bring 2. If it's just me and my dad I'll bring a Carolina rig, jig, top water, and vudu under a popping cori. Cover all my bases so I can be lazy

I take 5, but only fish 3 most of the time.

1 - Weightless plastic (Senko)
1 - Weighted Plastic
1 - Jig/Spinnerbait/hardbaits, etc.

Let me guess, you hate going with anyone else?

Not really but I do get frustrated when I don't have a rod I've already got a certain bait on & don't have it with me I've been fishing at times & most of them is on the front of the boat with me
You ought to see the mess when I catch a big fish in one of the big fish hourly weigh-ins & I'm in a hurry

I bring 3 but only ever use one. Can't remember throwing something other than a gold spoon the past 20 times I've gone

I usually take 5 in the yak offshore.
1- pitch rod for cobia/tarpon
2- bottom jigging rods, lighter one can double as a trolling rod
1- dedicated king rod
1- sabooki rig rod

Of course I love sight fishing the mangroves and cobia and pulling up some stud grouper and AJ but there's just something about that Sabiki
