If I keep heavy ice and drain the water everyday ...will the deer meat meat be ok for 9 days ? It’s quartered already . The guy that processes my deer doesn’t open again until the new year .

We stay out of town for 2 weeks hunting and I’ve never had an issue yet! Been doing this for years.

Why not both.... I mean, yes the meat will be fine.

Did you pre cool your Yeti? This is important.

I typically do this for 14 days before I begin to butcher the deer. Never had an issue.

All good. Aging it makes it more tender. We age ours for about a week to ten days. Need to keep ice on it and water drained off.

I would leave the drain open so it doesnt sit in ice water. You'll be fine.

Ya, beef will hang for a couple weeks, deer should be just fine or better after aging.

Just leave it at a slight angle with the plug open. Dont want it setting in water. Won't be any problem.

This. Been doing it this way for going on 50 years now. Never have had a problem as long as you keep ice on top of the meat.

That’s not aging it. That’s ruining it.

processor may have it sit on ice even longer before he can get to it
my processor will not take deer that have been in the ice chest longer than 3 days
take that for what it is worth
it will probably be fine but it would certainly be better if it wasn't sitting there for 9 or 10 days
