in all seriousness...I will catch and relocate the duck for you. I have ponds by my house with ducks and they swim all around the neighborhood and area.

My mastiff recently ate my neighbors duck anyway so I need to replace it.

So, I'll know you by the crying duck... I usually don't run that direction because of the dead end, but I may just have to visit that duck one day.

Had the same problem with Ducks in my neighborhood, I bought a couple of Motion Activated Sprinklers. It turn out there are great to put in the front of your house when friends come over.

So you think that ducks are scared of water?

No...my initial thought was that the ducks would probably like the damn sprinkler and hang out in it..much like they do on the damn corner with the duck pals.

eta: But I'm willing to try a sprinkler and make my lawn oh so purty in the process

UPDATE:
The baby ducks have hatched and wandered off..either that or a giant snake ate them. Yeah that. A snake.

Either way, I have no more eggs in my bushes for now.

Thanks Outdoor board for your suggestions

For future reference...

I've used the Liquid Fence stuff twice for ducks and it worked both times. However, I firmly believe it was just a coincidence and the ducks simply decided to move to someone else's yard to root around and tear up.

And the stuff will stink up everything that comes within 50 feet of it.

A good part of the neighborhood drains through my yard and I have a very large vegetable garden. Both of the ones I have found were after heavy rains and they were small (dangerous, I know). I literally just pick them up with a shovel, put them in a box or bucket, and release them in the woods.

I grew up chasing and catching snakes and turtles right where the neighborhood is built. There have typically been enough king snakes around the neighborhood to keep the pits away, but I haven't seen any of them in a couple of years. I have even considered trying to hunt down and trap a salt-n-pepper for the garden, but it would probably just leave my yard anyway.
