Was just casting a bit in the backyard. How accurate would you say you are with a rod and reel?

ETA: title fix

Not as accurate as I should be. I'm even less accurate sitting in my kayak

With 6"-a foot most times. Used to sit in my yard with a casting plug and a coffee can for hours.

Might want to expand your title some or you'll get da anchor.

I'm accurate most of the time. Just not very precise.

Fly rod - very.

Over hand bait casting ok, but not great.
Underhand pitch I can hit a 3 inch circle

Yea you need to do this. "how accurate can you cast" or something along those lines to avoid the anchor. I'd like to hear some of theses responses.

I can't cast worth a damn.

I'd say I'm pretty damned accurate. I can ring a solo cup at 8-10' pitching a texas rigged worm. Took lots of back yard practice though.

I can do pretty good.. learning to skip a lure up under stuff and behind trees to the bank is where it's at, I can put a senko anywhere, getting better with jigs

Left handed cast I can flip into half of a 50 gal drum from about 30 ft. Over head two handed is a distance cast and I can put it in a 10 ft radius at full distance. When I was younger my dad made me practice casting everyday and I had to learn left handed. Said the first day I hook him or scratch his boat he would kick my arse. I'm glad I learned now because I can hit some holes while bass fishing. Helps with reds too.

That's tough. I may give that one a shot.

I never thought of using a cup like that. I would just consider it shitty if I didn't hit middle of the barrel.

Skipping is something I need to learn how to do. I can cast great when there's no trees to worry about overhead. I'm only good for sidearm out of one side of the boat.

For the mos part in good at distance, but anything inside of 10-15' I need to work on.

Maybe I need to throw in the yard some.

I am pretty accurate....I'd say I hit where I want about 85-90 percent of the time. I have had A LOT of practice, though

i used to cast and flip and pitch in the yard till my arm fell off, but if you notice when u get out there on the bank, things change, there's low hanging branches, treetops, moss, could be 10 ft of water behind it all...gotta get it back there somehow, all about putting the bait in the strikezone and keepin it there longer

Yea I can cast great in my pool. I do great somewhere like Cataouatche or somewhere grassy with few trees. Those low hanging branches kill me.

You must know my brother

If anything, instead of getting better at casting I've gotten good at getting a bait out of a tree without getting tangled
