Let's face it - revolvers are as obsolete as break open, single shot shotguns or bolt action rifles are for self-defense. Just because something is obsolete, doesn't mean it can't be effective.
But, from a pure cost/benefit/effectiveness standpoint, quality semis are better than revolvers in every objective way - possibly excepting manual of arms and maintenance requirements. They have a place, but in traditional configurations (mainly full-size .357 service revolvers and 5-shot .38 +P), not a gimmicky, "kill snakes with a specialty weapon" product like The Judge.
So I don't have to sell my S&W .357 revolver and by a Glock?

Negative. If you get into a fight with a guy who has a Glock, his advantages will be: more capacity, faster follow up shots and faster reloading.
BUT, (assuming you're an educated man and carry 6, 7 or 8 Federal 357B in the cylinder) your shot placement with your "obsolete" firearm will trump his Austrian engineering.
Shot placement > any other factor in a gunfight.

Its clear place is to kill snakes at close range. I literally wouldn't use it for anything else, unless I had no choice.
You must have never shot one then, cause it's definitely not werfashit shooting snakes at close range, even with 7's in there, it can't keep em' tight enough.
However, I'd bet good money that a perps arse would get hit a few times crawling through somebodys bedroom window. I ain't getting into y'all's brouhaha, but, that is a fact.

All semi autos are Glocks?

So, it is ineffective to even kill snakes - a purpose for which it appears to be intended. Interesting.

So you put it slightly above throwing rocks at someone, and well below a true defensive handgun?
About where I place it as well. Got it.

"It appears to be intended",, to who, you?
The rest was just as bad, not worth quoting.
Your reading comprehension is amazing. Nice day.

There are 3 kinds of OBers.
Those who pimp the judge and those who do not.

Ideal? When did that enter this? Less effective?
He asked for a good recommendation for home defense. Why wouldn't I advise the most effective gun and advise AGAINST a gun which is less effective?

But anyone who has any firearms experience knows if someone recommends The Judge that they bought into BS hype and aren't real shooters.
I think you're going overboard here.

I have a 4.5 inch XDM 40 with a 16 round magazine in my nightstand. If I can't kill it with 16 rounds of 40 then it's not meant to die.

Plus I can shoot him right on through that open car door they always show people hiding behind in the movies!!!
I kid, I kid...... Shooting through walls and doors is a concern. I live in a brick house so that helps protect the neighbors, but I have a wife and 2 kids so shot placement is critical.

As for needing more than 10 rounds of 124gr +P 9mm?
I have the aftermarket 15-rounders for my Hi-Point.
And 20 more in my Beretta Storm.

If i were breaking into someone's home, my worst fear would be would be a 12 ga slinging buckshot or another defense round. So i keep a benelli m2 tactical within arms reach. My wife has a 20 ga under her side of the bed.
