Uhhh... she fed them at the end.
We had a pack of hogs on a place in Junction that one of our hunters actually witnessed them taking down a doe. Not found a wounded one. Took out a fully healthy one by ambushing her at a feeder. Took her legs out and they all jumped on her and ate her on the spot. Dude wouldn't come out of the stand till he had backup. Said it was the most nightmarish thing he ever saw or more especially, heard.

So he sat in the stand and just watched. I only say this because if he was in a stand I would think he had a gun.

Read about this story when it first came out and it just said “animals” had killed her. I figured it was dogs but jeesh... poor lady

We kill every hog we see on our deer lease and they've gotten real good at hiding from us, and weren't bad at it even before we started shooting them.
I'm skeptical of hogs acting as predators on humans in a populated neighborhood.
Scavengers I'd understand.

I know the hogs had no problem eating the poor woman.

Hogs down here in South Texas are out of control. There were a dozen or so that crossed right in front of me this morning on my way to work. I've been seeing a bunch lately just working their way down the highways, tearing everything up.
Wouldn't be surprised if more instances like this happen until TPWD wises up and outlaws paid hog hunts. Too many people's livelihood's now depend on making sure that there are plenty of hogs around.
