First and only time a hog is seen on the property. What are some good ways to keep him coming back - hopefully during the day hours so i can get him before deer season.

Corn will keep it coming back, but when now that's left up to the hog

I see another eyeball reflecting about two inches above the hog. I bet you've got more than one hog on your place. Wonder what BP thinks?

Try to kill a deer in that spot.

Behing the hog is my food plot and a corn feeder so there may be more. also there is a feeder on a tree below the camera and water. I have seen 2 bucks and multiple does everynight for 2 weeks except for this night

If I remember correctly you hunt in Washington Parish. IF I am correct you are screwed just hope for the best. Last year at this time we had our first hogs show up at our place. We killed 47 beween Feb 1 and now. I would do nothing other than pick up all corn and feed and hope he moves on. Maybe try and shoot him on next full moon.

This was the only night he has shown up and hasnt come back, the deer moved back in the next night. ill be up there squirrel hunting the next few weekends so ill see if i can see him then

That's a sow, look at her teats. She is currently or has recently raised a litter of piglets.

I figured it wasnt the only pig around but its the only one we have seen, i hope it doesnt start to mess with the deer because i am just starting to get deer consistantly on the property - i am the only one who hunts the land and develop it more each season

BP thinks he crazy for wanting to keep it around. Its too late though. You will grow to hate them

I'm no expert, but from what I have heard, hogs are like cockroaches. For every one you see there are a dozen that you don't. Prayers sent and ammunition passed.

i dont want to keep him/her around, i want to get it back there so i can shoot it. if i never see it again, fine with me but if its hanging around, i want to see it during the day - espically becuase ill be sitting against a tree right by there this weekend squirrel hunting

If I recall you hunt not to far from Angie, where I am, and we have many pigs. This is how it starts, best of luck keeping control of them.
Didn't see our first signs of pigs till after Katrina, what a beeyatch she was

Look at the OP's picture. I see an eyeball reflecting above the hog. It's about two inches above the hog's picture. Or, at least, that's what it looks like to these old eyes...

I'm certain that's a bug flying by.

Putting up fingers as a bet?

Corn or any food will keep him coming back, but any food will attract more.

if you can get your hands on a trap you should put one out. when they're stupid they are as effective if not more than dogs.
also I deal with this regularly. over a two year period I and another guy killed over 200. if you see that one there are at least a dozen more walking your place. the best way to find them is to walk around at night. walk into any bottoms/swamps and just listen. you can usually locate them by sound.
