I live in a voluntary HOA, and following a hurricane total destruction of my house, I get a letter from the HOA president that the subdivision is now mandatory and he must approve my house plans prior to construction. Nah I responded and he sicced a Houston law office on me, using all the HOA funds on hand to pay the lawyers claiming I was libel for the legal expense and could not begin to start the house for my polio handicapped wife.

I turned that around by filing a complaint with the texas rangers. Basis was the dick was intimidating an elderly, by fraud and using his office to further that attempt,,,,,where he had no authority.

He quit talking after the ranger interview. Lawyers apologized

edit . ......complaint was a criminal complaint with 5 years imprizonment possible

Just bring the legs, straps, lions, and neck out of the woods. Leave the rest for the worms and such. You neighbors will never know. And if you don’t hit trash day right it can be a disaster lol

I have used a drop cloth before, but honestly it does not get that dirty without one.

Good skinning knife, folding saw, bags for meat.

Any of y’all had to deal with anything like this?

Where I live, I am the HOA, so nope, do not deal with this. My nearest neighbor lives almost a mile away, after that, no one for a couple more miles.

My favorite example was f Cali libs freaking out is this: Pappys gun range of tinker Creek Road in rock hill South Carolina has had a gun range for over 30 years.

Something similar happened in Texas where I use to live but the outdoor gun range lost. Gun range had been there for 25 years. It was in the middle of nowhere. The area started growing tremendously. Then all of the land was bought up around the shooting range. The developers started building houses and before the first people moved in they took the shooting range to court. It was ruled the shooting range was to close to the new suburban neighborhoods and was forced to close. It sucked. That was my favorite shooting range.

Also reminds me of another shooting range I went to for the first time. It was in the middle of nowhere. I shot at the pistol range and then moved over to the rifle range. Was excited to try out my new optics for my AR. Before I could take my first shot someone tapped me on the shoulder and asked what type of bullet I was shooting. Of course I said FMJ. He said they were not allowed. Only soft point bullets. Said they were worried about ricochet b/c there were a couple of houses miles away. Said the soft point bullets was the compromise or the shooting range would be forced to close by the home owners. I packed my gun up without shooting it once and never went back there again.

We have a pretty laid back HOA. We've also had 2 houses with damages from arrows. No one fessed up. HOA didn't do crap.

HOAs aren’t my cup of tea, and might not be a popular opinion here, but to be completely honest these don’t seem like the most ridiculous things to not want going on in a subdivision. Maybe you’re being careful but what about the next guy who sails one over the fence, or when someone’s yorkie pukes deer guts in the livingroom? I’ve lived in neighborhoods and it was a pain in the arse but I made life choices and set my priorities to have places to do my baw shite.

Spot on. Not sure why people agree to move into a place with an HOA and then bitch about them enforcing the rules. Clean that carcass in the field. Shoot your bow somewhere else. Or, better yet, go buy a place out of town and do all that shite. I did. Its wonderful. I don't think I could ever go back to living in a neighborhood. But if i do, I'll live in one with an HOA (or some sort of rules) and I won't bitch about it whne they enforce them.

So we live in the same neighborhood? They’d rather send the Christmas trees to the landfill than create fish habitat.

I have two young boys, and the social aspect for them outweighed my wants. In due time. And for the record, I never bitched about it. Even said as much earlier in the thread. I can still be frustrated.

So you live in a neighborhood that restricts your freedom and you PAY for this?
