Yosemite in July. I've been using Merrills lately. If I wasn't carrying the baby I would have used some new balance barefoot trail shoes.

Man, Danner is the brand for mountains as they are stitch down construction, makes a huge difference in hill climbing. If you can't afford the USA ones get the Pronghorns as they use some of the features of stitch down in the toe box,. This is the best construction as they make a ledge you can stand on going up hills. Others roll over and you can't walk. If not good foot wear you are going to be looking at your feet not at game.

Danners are heavy compared to a lot of hiking boots. I prefer to go lighter weight.
FWIW, I do use Danners as work boots and have been happy with them for years.
