I have a family member who’s getting older and would like to take one last hunt while he is able.

Does anyone have any recommendations within driving distance from LA where I can take him? Budget isn’t the biggest issue as long as it is within reason

There are quite a few High fence places in Louisiana. No need to go out of state.

I believe there is an exotic high fence north of Baton Rouge that sells hunts and there was one in Killian.

It's more like shooting goats than hunting in those high fences. Set him up with a hog hunt instead.

I agree. I won a hunt to the one north of Baton Rouge and gave it to my SIL who hasn’t used it.

I’ve hunted in a high fence in Mississippi that a family member owned, but it is about 1400 acres. I kept the deer in the area but I didn’t see a shooter the 5-6 times I got to hunt.

Highly recommend Merryville Outfitters for what you're talking about. Those guys will make him feel like he is center of attention and get it done right with great accommodations and food. Cant beat em

A look at their site shows some very nice property across the tracks in Paradis. My brother used to be able to hunt ducks there in exchange for running his mud boat in the tranasses to keep them passable. It was a great roost for wood ducks and mallards.

The Island is pricey

What exotic does he wish to hunt? Is Kerrville TX too far? My uncle has a ranch and will put a hunter on an exotic for a day or two hunt and provide a nice camp and will only charge you cost plus 10%.
