Scrapes starting popping up about a week ago north of Centreville, MS. There was a nice buck killed following a doe near Glostner on Christmas Eve morning. We're just seeing the early stages right now. It'll break loose soon though. Probably around New Years.

Growing up hunting west of brookhaven in the union church area rut was always around christmas. For the past 6-8 yrs it seemed as though the rut wasnt until after new years and gets later each year.

I think SE LA rut is mid jan. Im in Abita area this yr and the bucks on camera have white hocks. Also seeing very few scrapes.

Seeing small bucks walking during daylight for about 3-4 days. Seeing 2-3 yr old bucks pushing on cameras. All at night. Also getting 6-8 different bucks per night per camera

Eastern edge of west feliciana:
As of dec 24,
Bucks covering a lot of ground, but still in feeding mode. Seen 5 bucks between me and my old man in the last 2 days. Seen doe still with yearling, young bucks together feeding, and a decent 8 pt feeding with a doe. Old man killed a good 4.5 year old feeding; didn’t stink and neck was barely swollen. Isn’t quite that time yet.

We hunt poplarville and have started to see a few bucks on camera at night so guessing it will be starting in the next week or two. Have had trouble pinning down the rut the last few years. Sometimes its right around new years, other years it happens in late january.

Hunted the southern end of Tensas parish this weekend. Every doe still had yearlings with them and watched 3 young 8 pts feed and bed down together. I have seen zero sign that the rut is approaching.

I am in pearl river county and the bucks haven’t started chasing as of two weeks ago. Going this weekend so hopefully that has changed. Still had bucks traveling together on camera.

Bucks are running does in Jackson. Haven't seen any sign here in Wilson yet. Got to be any day now. I've got a few hookings in the back... but haven't seen any scrapes as of yet.

Kentwood La. Finally started seeing some movement yesterday afternoon. With small bucks pushing does. Had a mature deer on camera last night pushing a few. It’s on the verge here of breaking wide open.
