frick all that. Same logic as choupiques

We live in Louisiana where there are countless species of fish which are easy to clean, yield great, and have zero stipulations on how you clean/keep/cook them to taste fantastic. Throw all that bullshite back and go catch you some damn decent fish.

I pulled one up one time and before I could grab it the sucker bounced and stuck me right in the joint between my ankle and foot. It hurt and stayed stiff for like 6 months.

It sucked a lot

I hang them on the side of the boat and let them flap against it til they either fall off or get tired.

I dont flip them because I dont want to get stuck.

I take two pairs of players and use on to hold them still and the other to wrench the hook out.

I hate wasting all that time but I'm not interested in getting stuck.

I give them a firm tap on the head with my pliers and it usually settles them down

I must confess:

Several of us were on GI back in the late 60’s, early 70’s, before the state park and all. We used to camp just about anywhere we wanted to. Anyway we really roughed it and just brought a black pot, grease and potatoes, planning to catch our meals. Forgot to mention the chest full of beer.
Conditions were poor enough that we ended up eating a few nice hard heads fried over a driftwood Fire.
Can’t say they were great or bad but I can say they are fine when you are hungry!!!!

I like trying new things food wise and experience it before making a decision one way or the other.

I’m not going to target any of those species but if the day is slow I know I can put together a decent meal with the unusual suspects.

Speaking of all these trash fish, I caught a 1 lb mudcat today on a tube jig. Talk about a stinky slimy no meat POS fish

Problem with hardheads is that they are all head and almost no filet. Ain’t worth the trouble.

Why they hell is anyone wasting their time with that shite when there are plenty of other really good fish to eat where hardheads are caught?!
