The guy that tied them said his fish have left the tops too. May have to switch to Spring Bayou until winter.

Also, the 4 way or whatever it’s called by Cane River has hair jigs, though Cane River seems to have no Crappie

I have since started sending the heads I like(larger hooks) to the guy that has been tying for me. Here is the new ultimate. This thing is going to catch so many:

Check Facebook marketplace. In both places I've lived recently (first OKC now DFW), there was someone local who made hair jigs to order.

3J's has saved my arse last weekend. I bought onions, beer, crankbaits, Diowa rod, steel shot and frozen shad and fried chicken

I buy mine online - Jimbo's Jigs. LINK

You specify the weight, hook size (#2 or #4), hook color (bronze or red), head color and two skirt colors. These are the only ones I've used for the past 2-3 years. Before that I was using store-bought hair jigs. These hooks are strong and one jig will easily last for +/- 100 sac-a-lait.

I use the "Procastinator." I bought 7-8 dozen the last time I ordered, so it's been a while since I've had to re-order. Mine have tinsel added to white skirts - IIRC this is automatically added to all the Procastinator jigs, The white & pearl white mixed as the two hair colors (with the tinsel) looks a lot like a shad (especially if if you use the white or pearl white head (or even the gray head).

My grandfather made and sold jigs out of his store in Winnfield for years. The older I get the more I wish I would have paid better attention to when he tried to teach me the process.
