Anyone have a recommendation for a gunsmith in Tangipahoa/St. Tammany region?

Remington 1100 16 gauge won't cycle properly. I've changed out springs and rubber o-rings but it won't cycle. It shoots but won't eject shells. I've tried different ammo because my first thought was the ammo wasn't hot enough to cycle. No avail and I've gotten frustrated messing with it.
Second one is a bit more complicated. I inherited a custom built rifle my grandfather was given when he left the army. He was the sniper instructor for the army's competition shooting team in the late 60's. Its a beautiful rifle with a heavy stainless barrel and old Redfield international match sights. I'm 99% sure it's chambered in 308 on an old winchester model 70 receiver. I'm not positive enough to shoot a round thru it though. This rifle means too much to me to force feed an improper round thru it. Looking for a gunsmith to take a look and see what it is chambered in for certain. No markings on receiver or barrel that I can find after a thorough inspection

You need a real gunsmith then.
I don't have one on the Northshore but be aware of guys saying they are a "gunsmith" who only know how to screw an AR-15 together.
Remington probably needs a detail break down and cleaning of gas ports.
The rifle just needs someone knowledgeable enough to drop a gauge in the chamber and confirm the bore. Just to be sure it isn't some weird wildcat chambering or something the guys that gave it to him thought up back then.

Reulet for the shotgun.
For the rifle, I'd bring it to don geraci in Independence.
Not the Reulet couldn't look at the rifle, it's just that Don geraci could probably tell you every detail about it.

Hate to break it to you but that 1100 is done for, I am in the gun recycle business though and will take it off your hands for a fair price.
