Gunbroker Experiences

Is it just me or do guns sell for considerably more on gunbroker than websites like buds and deguns?
I catch myself constanly looking for a deal on gb, placing a bid and then watching the gun go for more than I could have bought it brand new from buds.

GB is good for discontinued or deals on used guns. RARELY do I see a new-in box-gun for a deal better than buds or cheaper than dirt. However, you may get around state sales taxes going to GB. I recently got a new clays gun thru GB, but called the seller direct from contact info and worked something out. Got a good deal on it too, saved 250 in sales tax...you have to shop and be patient for the "right" deal to come by if you go the route of the online auction sites.

Mine have been good. I’ve purchased 3 firearms in the last year, all cheaper than Buds and great follow up with fast shipping. You have to sort through to find the deals.

I usually will use a local company, but, for my CZ 453 I had to go GB. It takes time, but eventually you'll find the buy it now price to be a deal in itself, as was my 453's case. It really is more timing and luck.

For new guns, i would look at the search engine Slick Guns, but GB is still good for used. I will search auctions w/ no reserve for S&W and/or Colt revolvers. I don't like to buy used semi's from someone i don't know. I did get a great Sig p229 on GB brand new for a steal. It was .40 and police departments had just quit buying them in this caliber and were switching over to 9mm. That thing is sweet and runs .40 just like a 9mm.

Generally good to go, but I have noticed more recently some phantom bidding activity. You’ll encounter that on most auction sites, though.

I've also seen guns get yanked when it starts to look like they are going to sell for a low price.

The GOAT online gun buying site is the old Gunsamerica circa 2005. Imagine craigslist for guns but with better pictures.
Online shopping changed the firearms game forever. GB instituted some changes recently to encourage more sales on the site.

I recently bought a Taurus 66 .357 and a Keltec PMR30, both NIB, off GB and it was the cheapest I could find both of them after searching Armslist, gun.deals and several local forums.
I guess it all depends on what you're looking for and how popular it is at the moment you want to buy.
