Getting rid of an old gas grill, have to buy new one. Neighbor loves his green egg.

I will be building a outdoor kitchen. Gas grill top will fit easy. Can I put GE installed into counter?
Which would be best?

Food board will give you better responses.

But I'd get an egg with a table.

if you suck at cooking, green eggs are great.
i can grill just as good on a weber.

Cooked on both, I prefer gas. Much more versatile.

I have both. Use my gas grill several times a week. I use my egg once or twice a month and almost never for grilling. If you're only going to have one grill/pit/smoker in your outdoor kitchen, I'd go with the egg because of the versatility. If you plan to cook on it a lot, I'd go with a gas grill and a box type propane smoker. Yes, you can put a egg into a counter.

I have an Egg and 2 holland grills. Cook all my veggies on the Hollands and all my meat on the egg. Nothing like a steak one night seared @ 600 degrees, and cooking a Boston Butt low and slow @ 225 degrees the next day on the same smoker/grill. If I had to just have 1, no doubt it would be the Egg.

While I like a Green Egg, they're a lil overrated in my opinion...especially for what you pay. I can grill just as good with my lil Weber charcoal pit or smoke just as well with my Orion cooker.

We have an egg installed in an outdoor kitchen. It's great. No complaints.

An egg can easily be fit into a counter.
If only getting one, get the egg.
It can cook everything amazing.

I have a Primo XL and very happy, with that being said and any well built grill can cook good. I think the ceramic grills have a bigger margin of error than other types but all can produce good meat.

Find you a stainless steel grill. Take the frame off and brick the pit into your counter.

My grandparents been having one for over 30 years and that pit is awesome to cook on. Stays hot, bricks hold the temp, and we have a rotisserie setup which is nice

You need both, IMHO.

I like my Primo, buy use the gas Weber more.
Certain things come out way better on a charcoal grill.

I can't believe I am saying this, but put the gas in. Much more convenient and versatile.

BUT, you need something that will give you added flavor when cooking something special.

green egg

Save your money. To me, there is zero reason to drop almost $1000 on a grill that you need a forklift to move. Buy a charcoal grill with a smoke box or a weber. That will give you the added smoke flavor when cooking something for extended periods of time.

Yep, just fire up that weber and throw on a Boston Butt for an 18-20 hour smoke. Lay your head on that pillow and know that weber will maintain your 180-200 degree temp overnight with absolutely no attention by you.

Don't be nervous, feel confident that no one will get sick eating your wonderful preparation.

If I was building an outdoor kitchen, I would run a gas line and probably put in both. Gas has its place plus you can use the gas for doing other things especially if you add hook-ups like for crawfish burners on the side.

I think food on an egg is superior to a standard cooker in most cases plus it is a more enjoyable experience. A stainless gas grill is going to run around $1000 so the prices is going to be comparable.
