Ok so I traded the stock Polaris plastic POS roof back in and have this one on order.
I have looked at a few things and will be getting CV boot protectors put on also. Likely these:
These are aluminum and wont rust, although the steel ones are cheaper and black which I like better.
I was wondering what the OB though about a full length skid plate?

Id probably get one, especially if you are taking where they logged recently. It would suck to hit a stump or limb and get that sucker jammed up there.

Regarding the boot guards I don't recommend them. Infact all of our atv's that come with the plastic ones from the factory get taken off right away. We have never seen a stick or anything puncture a boot due to not having the guards, plus the guards typically hold mud which makes cleaning a pain in the arse plus you're now riding around with something holding an abbrasive against your boot/cvt. You'd be perfectly fine without them.

stick stoppers brand is the best ones I've found.
I do not agree with the post above this one about removing them.
the biggest thing is to check around the boots every now and then when you've been through stuff that you think good bunch of them

this will fix your roof problem. although i don't remember what size fits the bar exactly.

looked under it last night and there is a factory plastic skid plate alredy in place. That should suffice. I will be adding the boot protectors though.
I think I want to put a 2" lift on it too so I can get through slightly deeper water with it.

Since the manual specifically says do not take deeper than the floor board,
there is a vent on the drivers side by the seat on outside.
it has a little cover.
don't go over this and you will be fine.
I will try to find who we bought our LEDs off of ebay from and post back. they were cheap and they work great

not on the crew 800. the vent is between the rear seat and dump bed at the level of the seat. However, there are other vacuum and breather lines that terminate lower to the ground than the intake.

I have the mid size and the air intake is in front under the cover. Directly below the windshield.

yes there is also an air intake there too.

I have been so busy working on stuff around the house lately I haven't even looked at my lathe in a couple of months. I will get to them soon. I promise.

no rush, I was just curious. I never did find an economical way to ship the wood to the fella in FLA.

Coming along nice.
Were you gonna add a light bar?
ETA: Yes, I see you were.

Putting a lift kit on it should be a top priority. It really helps.

Yep, but I've accidentally put mine in deeper water than the floor. Not exactly how sure, but my foot was on the gas underwater. It's a beast of a machine. The only time mine has been stuck was on a sandbar where it got high-centered and all 4 wheels were off the ground. FWIW, a woman was driving at that time. It's so heavy, you aren't going to push it anywhere.

any suggestion of which lift kit?

I bought the cheap one off Ebay but I wouldn't recommend it. It has held up but I don't expect it to last for ever.
I would do some research and ask around on the Ranger forums so see what people recommend.
