This one falls into my wheelhouse.
Too lazy for pics, but I get to wear two nice big scars in my bicep for the rest of my life.....chocolate lab. Yes that reads extreme and admittedly is isolated, but it's true. Though not exactly pit bulls, most (not all) chocolate's I've come across are a bit shifty, something just isn't right about their demeanor, and yes many have had a tendency to nip adults and kids from my own experiences. They tend to be higher strung than yellows or blacks.
I have a golden. He is my hunting dog and family dog. He is really good on natural instincts in the marsh and rice fields, he is 10X better than that around the house with my little kids. You could crack him with a 2X4 and that joker will not bite you with your hand shoved in his mouth. Extremely loyal and tolerant to the kids' hassling him all day every day.
Trained him to hunt myself, and I don't know SH*T about training dogs other than reading in books, had never even had a dog before.
Just my experience and 2-cents, maybe a few more.

Fish, any idea if any pups are still needing adoption?
Yes. Went by there today and got some more pictures. Problem there, ATT. Tried to email them twice to my puter even after restarting my phone, no go.
The pups are only 3 weeks and 2 days old. Though they were older. My niece said that there are 3 left. 1 male 2 females.
After looking at them and at this age, the runt would be my pick. Reason, she wanted to explore more then the rest of the pack, but then again, they could of been just hungry. Still a bit early there.
Once I get the pictures thru, I will post them.
Oh, they are starting to turn more brown. If I didn't have two dogs, I would take one of these in a heart beat knowing the mom and dad. The pups will make good pets and good hunting stock.

My Paw Paw always said the only thing a chocolate understood was a 2x4 across its backside.

Hey fish, would you mind emailing me? My nephew thinks he might want one if they’re still available.
bbeech1@bloomberg.net
Sure appreciate it.
ETA: I don’t work for or at Bloomberg. Just have one of his machines.

I've had a pure-bred black lab, a pure-bred golden that was raised in an SEC Frat house, and currently have a black lab mix (that is an 80# lap dog. She's a sweetheart that gives me hugs, but she'll turn hillbilly meth crazy on you in a heartbeat.) I've also owned several other mutts over the years that were a kid's best friend.
Compared to a golden, black labs are psycho-billy-cottonmouth crazy. At best.

Golden Retriever fur Is a lot to deal with, it’s gets into the atmosphere. The long hair is also kind of a pain especially if they spend a lot of time outside.
I currently have an English Cream(white golden)Retriever. Great dog, very sweet and gentle with the kids.
