VR get yourself a couple dozen of these bad boys and they will last a lifetime.

So if you are in a kayak, where do you put the crabs that you catch.

I plan on having a 5 gallon bucket in the yak and stash an ice chest in the vicinity in the marsh grass and just go back and forth to the ice chest as needed. Since it's my first time, I'll probably only pick up 3-4 of those nets just to see how it goes.

One more thing. get a couple poles and a hammer to nail them suckers into the bottom. Poles should be close to 10' long.

How do you hammer down a 10' pole? I just use one's about 6' long.

Make sure you keep the crabs cool, I find this time of year crabs die pretty quick if not cared for properly......for some reason this is doubly true for crabs I catch in Grand Isle.

so i saw about a couple of frozen water jugs, will that suffice, or do you need something that touches them all?
Can you cover them with ice and leave the drain plug open?

Also, are their crabs around the west side of Caminda Bay? Around the blue pin on this pic

Yes, last weekend we caught them in the bay and on the beach. They were plentiful and the best I have ever tasted. Lots of females with eggs though.
