The difference between that and what I was watching on TV is that training doesn't involve drawing while being thrown to the ground in the middle of getting the shite beat outta you. That's what was happening in those 3 clips roughly.

Do they say that they are Glocks or can you tell by the video or what?

Not trying to call you out. Like I said I know there are examples of them malfunctioning but the Glock torture tests are pretty impressive.

It's all good. I'm just kicking the shite cans. I like glocks.

Two of them were very obviously glocks. You could see them clearly in the video. Big square arse full sized glocks. I had to google the other one. They said the name of the dept in the clip. I don't remember what model it was, but it was a glock something (not a 17).

ETA: And I gotta go to bed. Work comes early. Yall please do a good job of turning this into a massive pissing match tomorrow so I have some good shite to read when I get off.

Something I recommend is that after you've cleaned your pistol (any pistol) go put 2-3 rounds through it and make sure it is functioning correctly before carrying for self defense.

I've seen guys shoot at the range, clean the weapon immediately afterwards, then load up and go. Only to find out later at the wrong time that something broke between range and cleaning time.

This nearly cost someone I know his life during a shoot out. The pistol would fire but he had to manually rack the slide after each round. I was told what part it was that broke but I can't remember. A test like I suggested would have caught this.

I own 4 glocks and have a 5th that is department issued. Between those guns I've probably sent close to 10k rds down range. I've had exactly one malfunction that was 100% due to some crappy steel cased Russian ammo I was shooting. Anyone questioning a Glocks reliability doesn't know squat about handguns.

Bingo. I will never understand the stick in the muds need to cling to the 1911 as a modern front runner. It most definitely is not. It's got about 20 more parts to do the same thing with less ammo. I'm sorry, math isn't working with your emotions here. There's less that can go wrong with a Glock and as such, it RARELY fails. So rarely it's really not even an issue. You can claim all the anecdotes you like, but there's way more of us out here who've cycled many, many, thousands of rounds through them that know that's sour grapes.

Look I love the 1911. It's a joy to shoot. So is the Swedish Mauser. This isn't WW 1 anymore. shite's improved. SO don't get so butthurt when people don't instantly flop down and felate your great grandpas pistol. Most modern pistols are better than a production 1911 on actual performance terms.

Yeah I know, I've shot 1911's that I stacked bullets with too. That gun weighed a ridiculous amount and I could have bought a brace of Glocks for what it cost to do that. If that was my standard I'd go with a S$W revolver. A pistol is not a sniper rifle. It's something that you want to pull the trigger and it goes boom. Probably at way too close range when you really need it. Get one that does that. Repeatedly.

If I'm getting attacked by an apple, It's dead meat vs my glock at ten yards every time of the 17 times I'm going to pull the trigger.

If I was getting attacked by something with a vital region the size of an acorn, and I knew I had time to place the shot accurately, and it didn't move, yeah, I'll take the 1911. Please don't be one of those tards that says .45 because they don't make a .46. I'm working up a snot rocket to fire through your computer screen if you pull that. I've shot a .46. Yeah, they do make it. It's stupid.

Let me preface by saying I have never shot a Glock but I have held many of the models. Being that they are the most popular handgun in the world, I am sure there are tons of stories about them malfunctioning but that is probably due to there being so damn many and used in pretty harsh situations.

Arguing against the reliability of a Glock seems pretty useless but they are not the only reliable weapon. I own an HK and have shot a fare amount through it and have never had a single ftf, misfire or anything no matter what I shot. There are other manufacturers that have a reliability similar to Glocks. Now comparing a Glock to a HK which is almost twice as much may not be fair but for the money, Glock could at least try and make a gun that didn't feel like a brick or a toy in your hand. I have been looking at getting a 9mm and I have looked at both the g17/g19 gen 3 and gen 4 recently and no matter what I tell myself, I hate holding those guns.

Again, reliability is one consideration in buying a weapon, albeit an extremely important one but don't think Glocks corner that market. I want to feel confident in not only the ability of the gun to fire but also feel as if it was an extension of my hand.

The only reason I don't own a glock is because of the grip size. They're just a bit too bulky for me. I had one and sold it. Although, I've never had the opportunity to shoot one of the gen4s, I know they made some changes, just not sure how much.

Big hands or small hands, there's a reason they don't make power tools the size of glock handgun grips, because it's not ergonomic.

I've been an XD fan for a long time, but I'm very satisfied with my S&W M&P. The hinged trigger wasn't my favorite at first, but once I started using the first crease in my trigger finger, rather than the tip, I don't even notice it.
