If you make your way to lil bama and you see a handsome gentleman, in a 16ft flat bottom with a yammy 25hp, thatll be my buddy. Ill be the ugly fricker on the front deck. We wont be out there very late, though, with this heat.

After checking around on Wed. I saw that Academy has all the Bandits (100/200/300) for the same price of $5.99 with free shipping if over $25. I ordered some 200 & 300 which showed up today for a grand total of $31.22 including tax. Sunday I'll see if the deeper divers can find the bigger fish.

Good luck OP

Did that a lot as a kid, before we started filleting. Loved them

Growing up everything got gutted & scaled.

I have converted because 1. It's the actual name, and 2. The other two choices are dumb.

Lotta time on the electronics and waypoint deep structure. This time of the year they’ll be ganged up and on something. Drop a marker about 20 feet downcurrent so you can set the boat up and slipcork a jig right over the top with the current, sacalait always feed up

This is a private 55 acre farm lake, and we take out upward to a couple hundred a month from Apr-Oct. We're just not seeing larger ones. The lake has bass, crappie, various small perch, & a very healthy mussel population (not zebra). The lake max depth is in the 15' range.

Bandit 100s do the job, but going to try the 200 & 300 in the morning to see if we'll find the slabs.

Ahhh. Whites or blacks? Whites in a closed water system often stunt in growth, not so with blacks. There are a couple of big ponds close to me both loaded. The one with whites the biggest you’ll catch is about 8” the other with blacks is full of hammers

It has both. I'd say average is 10", but we had a good number of 12s last year. The spring was wierd weather wise here. We had a record cold April and record hot May. This lake gets no pressure besides us & a few more guys we know. It gets some fresh water from a small creek. Bass over 3# usually get released. The crappie just didn't seem to spawn in May like they usually do. They went to deep water by the second week in May.

I have about 30 places saved on my depth finder where I know there is sunken structure on the bottom of the lake. Most are 10-20 feet deep and usually in wide open water. I find the spot and I throw a marker. Hit spot lock on the trolling motor. I use a drop shot rig most of the time with minnows and sometimes a slip cork with a bobber stopper on it. I can usually pick up 5-10 at each spot before I move to another one. I typically call it quits when I have about 25 keepers.

I met a guy fishing on the lake one day. I actually got pissed because he pulled up on me and killed his engine and started fishing so close. Started talking to him. Dude was retired and fished 5 days out of the week for crappie. I followed him around the lake as he started showing me structure. Later on that week he sent me coordinates for spots for a couple of lakes. All of them are legit so far with fish holding there. I see him fishing out there every time I go and I’m sure to stop by and talk to him before I leave. Really nice guy.

does 15 or 16 with just me. Finally getting that motor right. I got the motor free for helping a baw move and I pretty much rebuilt it. I traded two cases of boudin for the boat and trailer with a guy from north louisiana. I have maybe 400 bucks in that rig, if it gets stolen while i stay at the staring motel it's no biggie. I have a 60 mile commute so i needed something light enough to pull with a camry. I drag it to work a lot and fish on my way home.

Thats a sweet looking rig you got. I used to run a 25 on a 1436 just like the one i have now. it was scary AF.

Thanks, baw.

Thats pretty impressive for a 9.5hp. That seemed like a pretty nice little hull, as well. Perfect for places like that. A 25hp on that hull would make me a little nervous at the speeds you could get up to
