A friend bow hunted exotics in a fence that received pressure year round. The animals were very wild and wary.
Fence hunting makes hunting look bad. We already have many advantages. Do we also need a pen?
God made islands, but he didn’t make pens.

it can’t do that on a high fence farm.

Kinda depends on the size of the ranch. On larger high fence operations, there are deer that never even see the fence and I can promise that high fence deer can be just as spooky as any free range animal when they are hunted hard. However the stigma is still there and honestly lots of high fence operations perpetuate it since by and large they hunt over feeders. This gives people that lease or outfit these tracts time to judge animals prior to taking the shot on bucks that can often times be worth many thousands of dollars. It also solves the time constraint of having to wait on an animal that may or may not show up if you were say hunting a scrape line or hunting where some deer was spotted by scouting.

There’s a reason why B&C doesn’t recognize fence kills.

Damn you mean that 220 non-typical high fence buck I shot that I paid $12K for isn't going to make the book? Wonder if they will give me a refund....

Trust me, I'm no fan of high fence hunting if you think that's where my post was going. All I am saying is that deer inside big high fence operations can be just as spooky as free range given the right circumstances and not all of the deer in them have names and ear tags.

Just because it’s high fence, there’s no guarantee that the buck of your dreams is going to come out to the feeder on demand.

I’ve had a high fence lease in West TX since 2003 and any buck worth mounting that I’ve shot was well away from the feeder pen.

Anyone who bitches about high fence hunting should never hunt an island in the MS River (a la Giles..Davis...Glasscock..etc.) They are no different than high fence
Not sure if you're seriously dumb, or if you simply have never looked at maps. Some of these islands aren't even islands, and some islands have deer that leave the island every single day.
