Fresh fish market recs?

Any recommendations on a good place to get fresh gulf fish (amberjack, cobia, snapper, etc)? I'm located in Baton Rouge, I usually head to the coast every summer to get shrimp for cheap and stock the freezer. I was hoping to do the same thing this year, but with fish. Don't really have the time to keep the freezer stocked on my own and the grocery stores are high. Any advice? TIA.

restaurant depot will be opening in BR soon, but you need a business license and tax id number to get a membership.

I've called a couple places, but they have told me they don't sell to the general public.

Thanks, they said they don't sell to the public.

There's a fish and seafood market in Westwego

Fish selection is normally limited to coastal fish like specks and redfish.

If you don't mind driving to Pensacola, I'd highly recommend Joe Patti's. Bring you an ice chest and stock up on any fish you want. Doesn't get better than that. We brought some fresh Amberjack home about a month ago. Cooked it the next day and it was phenomenal

Never tried them but I think Fishermans Cove in Kenner has a variety. Not sure if fresh vs frozen though.
There are a ton of places that ship fish.

Decent prices? We are heading out that way in about a month, sneak in a beach trip before school starts back up.

Damn just left Pensacola but hopefully returning this summer.
This thread gave me an idea to borrow my Hogs team card to check out restaurant depot. Im not going offshore any time soon but crave amberjack and cobia 24/7.

Yes, I buy shrimp and lump crab meat there every now and then.

Valid point, I have not. I figured prices would be better closer to the coast, and I did not think Tony's carried much gulf fish wise, but I will check tomorrow.

I haven’t lived in br in a long time but maxwells would work with you, not cheap as off the docks

The gas alone to get to the coast (like Grand Isle) would eat up the difference I would think.

I want to say it was around $9-$10/lb.

If you do return this summer, check them out. You won't be disappointed.
