Posted this on the FDB, but think it's more OB material. I found them while fishing so there's that. I'm in OK and realize most LA folks haven't dealt with them but hoping someone has insight.
So I stumbled across a load of morels today and now don't know what to do with them. Can the OB give me some pointers on prep for cooking and ideas on ways to cook them?

Saute in butter. Ate them in Virginia 20 years ago. I might have cut them in half. You can bread them too. Its been a while but I think that's how we cooked them. I just know they were great.

Didnt think they had them in Oklahoma.
Was carefully then saute in butter and enjoy. I am jealous.

Bread with crushed saltine crackers if I remember correctly then fry in butter.
If I’m not wrong on the crackers it’s some of the best stuff I’ve ever eaten.

First make sure that's actually what they are. Unless you want your liver to dissolve.
I actually saw the video the other day where a guy deep fried them in chicken fat

Saw a recipe where they were cut in half. Stuffed with cream cheese and put back together. Then breaded and sautéed in butter. Super jealous. Good find

Found these in my back yard just yesterday in central Oklahoma.
Rinse them off well in cold water.
In a mixing bowl, blend an egg and 1.5 cups milk.
In a seperate bowl, use a couple cups of flour and add salt + pepper + any other seasonings you might want, but to taste, as the flavor will already be there. Mix the dry contents well.
Cut the morels into equal halves down the middle. Dip morels into the liquid and let excess drip off. Then coat in flour mixture and shake off the excess. Drop into deep fryer at 350° for about 2-3 minutes or until they get that golden crispy "KFC battered" color.
Enjoy
ETA:
I can tell by your pics that those aren't false morels. False morels don't have the hollow cavity throughout so you've got the right ones for sure.
I usually find 20-30 each year just walking the woods behind the house. Everyone has a little different way of cooking them but the method I posted has always been my favorite. They barely hit the paper towels to cool down before the kids vacuum them up.

MeatEater guide to Morel stuff
You've got the first part covered, but they touch on preparation toward the end of the article.
