Need another round of rain to follow soon. The 2nd and 3rd rain are just as important. Long stretch between first and second rain this early in October could get dicey.

I was able to get my plots on the property that I own done last Saturday.

My lease is on hold, found out last week that 150 acres of the 300 which is a clear cut will be getting sprayed by chopper, then they are planning on burning the entire 150.

Waiting to see how that plays out.

Hope they gets completed in next few weeks

I waited. Will wait til mid/late october. Worst thing happen is get rain now and not get another rain for 20 days and burn up tender growth. And looking as far out as 15 day forecast (for me in south ms) shows nothing but sunshine 0% chance of rain

Everyone (me included) keeps saying that rain then no rain is bad but we have over 45 plots on our club and never have I heard anyone say they have to replant due to seeds germinating then burning due to no rain.

Replanting due to army worms yes but not burning. I believe morning dew keeps them going once germinated. I may be totally wrong on this but just my opinion.

Especially on these foggy mornings, that is just as good as rain. Everything is wet.

It’s cloudy too. You’ll see spot showers that aren’t on the forecast

I haven't planted yet and the 10-day forecast for my place calls for 0.00" of rain... I hope this doesn't turn out to be a repeat of the last two years

I’m sure we’ll get a tsunami thanksgiving weekend while trying to hunt.

The forecast for the next 2 weeks sucks…. but so does my calendar. Planting today but not putting out any N until after everything comes up.

Depends on ur plot. If in a bottom, or woods and shaded ur good. But i have 100% had mine burn up and die due to no rain. Open field no shade. Now i planted early in mid sept that time (never again) went weeks no rain and 90+ degree. Dew got it up. And tender plants died off
