Saw Double R in Greensburg was carrying seed from Bluff Farms. Has anyone used their mix before with good results. Wasn't sure how it compared to Buckbusters.

I started using buck busters a couple years ago and have great results. I get pictures all summer long of deer.

We have used bluff for the last 3 years, I know the owner he is a farmer and small business man who takes pride in the germination percentage of his seed. In would highly recommend them. We used both the 10 way and 6 way and deer mow it down

What’s the difference in price ? Is it worth trying something different? The reason I ask is I have had good luck with BB for the last several years and can say I truly feel
Like it’s worth it for the three to four sacks we buy. I I bought more than that I would mix my own

I don’t know what the cost is in a store, we buy from bluff farm warehouse in Churchill. The 6 way (6 different seeds) $20 for 50 lbs the 10 way (10 different seeds) is $25 for 50 lbs

Is this who makes Buck Plus in Natchez? If so, what’s the difference in 6/10 ways ?

6 way and 10 way share the same blend on 6 seeds. The 10 way has rape, chicory, arrowleaf clover, and balansa clover in addition to what the 6 has. Matt and his dad Louis are great hard working people. I think Matt is an LSU grad.

I have been using Buck Busters fall mix for several years with good results. I actually purchased 13 bags Saturday. 1 bag plants 1 acre and I add about 6 lbs of Durana clover per acre. This mixture provides year around high protein forage. The Durana clover has definitely helped with antler development on my place.

No oats in buckbusters last year on this year, don’t know what the effect is , I added a few bags of oats to my buckbusters last year but this I think I am going to make my own mix

Going with spike oats, winter wheat, elbon rye, Austrian winter peas, crimson clover, Durana clover, and turnips, pretty much the same as all the blends, just stay away from rye grass, it is way to competitive to put in a blend

I’ve never used anything from Bluff Farms but I have used Buckbusters. Always had a good stand but I would get about the same from feed oats and such saving money on large areas I would plant. Now, a guy I hunt with used two different blends from “Wax Seeds For Southern Soil” last year and he had a great stand. The deer hammered it as well. If I was planting plots this year I would try it but I’m not.

I’ve used Bluff the last three years with excellent results. They have an insta @blufffarmsupply I see the price list from last year on there and there is a description for the seed mixes. We grew up deer hunting and farming together. They’re pretty damn good at both.
