Friend of mine has his 509 Tactical on the way and I can't wait to see how it shoots. Although I'm assuming it shoots the same as the normal 509, LOL.

BTW... I have no affiliation to them but Peak Firearms has a great price, IMO, on the 509 Tactical.

BM7133, mix it up a bit and try out the dual-illuminated RMR. I’m running the 7 moa amber dot on my M&P Core and it’s great. A flashlight will wash out the dot in low light but with backup irons that isn’t a problem. Plus my core isn’t my go-to defensive gun or carry gun (even though it’s extremely reliable and I would trust my life to it). It’s mostly a fun range toy.

Here’s a comparison I did a while back:

And to decide on reticle type:

so you mentioned replacing the tritium at 10 years. I imagine Trijicon has to do that in house right?

I’ve never put it to the test since all my night sights are still illuminated but yes. Supposedly it’s a delicate process not to mention on the bottom of the RMR it says “warranty void if removed” so they don’t want you messing with it.

But as I mentioned earlier the fiber optic will be your primary illumination 95% of the time unless you shoot in low light often.

The first comment was tongue-in-cheek. The 2nd comment is 100% fact.

ETA: I'm aware a gift is not a straw purchase but I also realize it can be

If I bought my wife a firearm as a gift it would be considered a straw purchase 100% of the time and she's never been convicted of or arrested for a crime.

Bought one Wednesday. Went to the range this afternoon. Shot 100 rds unsuppressed fine. Put my Tirant 9 on and wouldn’t cycle. I was shooting Blaser brass 115 Gr. These guns come 2 springs. The one in the gun is designed for normal use. It has a lighter spring as well so I switched out but same issue. I had some 147 gr S&B but same result.

Gun shoots fine as I said unsuppressed. I did take it down a clean it before going to the range. I have 2 other FN pistols, SCAR 17 and PS90 and never one issue with them. A little disappointed.
This gun is so new I can’t find where anyone else has had same issue.

Lsufan... where did you pick one up at? Hard to beat some online prices but I do like to keep it local at times.

Jim’s had a few. I know some people don’t like Jim’s but never had an issue with them and Brian always treats my right.I could have saved a few bucks buying online but decided to buy local. BTW cleaned the piston end cap and spring real good now it’s GTG.
